Here at Ilex we can admittedly be a bit of a cynical bunch. When it comes to love, though, even we can get carried away. So we thought, what better way than to celebrate Valentine’s day than by a nostalgic trip back to the days when love meant babies, romance meant learning how to snag a man, and sauciness usually involved ropes and chains (if you were a lady; men were mostly cheating, seducing, and wearing sharp suits). Ah the good old days!
So we’re celebrating this Valentine’s day by offering you the chance to win our finest vintage treasures:
From the pinup girls of WWII bombers to the boudoir – learn to Shoot Sexy with Ryan Armbrust’s fabulous book that covers everything from the poses and props to the techniques, teaching you all you need to know about this rapidly growing genre of photography. We’ve got three copies to giveaway so head over to @Ilex_Photo for your chance to get your hands on one!
Meanwhile @Ilex_Press is giving retro comic aficionados the chance to pick their favourite flavor of love, be it Romance, Sauciness, or simply pure Love (see below), win your choice from the Little Book of Vintage series – PLUS one very lucky winner will also receive our Valentine’s Day Grand Prize from our Lovelorn collection, including:
- 16 classic romance comic magnets for you to adorn your fridge or boiler with, because you’ll always find love in the least expected places (although if you’re looking for love in the boiler I suspect you’re Doing It Wrong. Carry on, fridge.)
- 30 Lovelorn postcards, because there’s NO better way make your feelings known than with a vintage comic postcard. Fact.
- 1 Lovelorn journal, for you to record all your romantic (mis)adventures, poetry, and fantasies in.
- And the Little Book of Vintage of your choice
A host of sexy prizes up for grabs and all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is get over to Twitter @Ilex_Photo and @Ilex_Press and Retweet something. It’s impossibly simple! As usual the giveaway lasts from Friday to Monday and is open worldwide. We can’t guarantee arrival by Valentine’s Day, especially if you live outside the UK, but then you’ll just have to keep them for yourself.
As they say in the most romantic city in the world (so I’ve heard)… Bon chance!
