Top photography website ThePhotoletariat.com has posted a fabulous review of our new app The Photographer’s Eye by Michael Freeman.
“I can now say with full authority that the future is here,” it begins. “The book is a fully interactive, ground-breaking example of what we are sure to see become the norm. There’s so much smartly written text and multimedia content in this book that you’ll want to take it a few pages at a time. You could curl up in bed late at night with your iPad and spend weeks exploring and digesting everything in this book (I mean app!). Even the book’s navigation was well thought out by the creators… Aside from being a great and very thorough manual on photography, The Photographer’s Eye is just beautifully designed, making full use of the iPad’s vertical/horizontal viewing option. The book’s publishers, Focal Press and Ilex Press, have set a very high bar with this amazing release.”
And there’s more. Here’s the whole review.

Book of Michael Freeman is the really new kind of apps for iPad and nice development of the publishing at all. But iin this particular app I found too many missed info. I meet this problem too often for the comprehensive app for iPad. It looks like the rush work, really. May be you plan to release the update version? It would be very smart and fits to the technology mainstream, for sure.
I’m happy to get this book on my iPad. And I’m waiting for new books by Michael Freeman and other photo guru for iPad. But, please, don’t let me feel frustrated.
We were very excited about the iPad app, and got it to the app store a little sooner than perhaps we should. As a result there were a few pages with design & editorial blunders. We’ve had both a designer and an editor go through with a fine tooth-comb and the free update should appear automatically on iTunes shortly. Sorry about that, but we’re please you like the concept.
